Junior Software Engineer (FT)

About Us Cauli is a UK-based B2B climate tech startup on a mission to reshape the future of packaging. In the UK alone, our throwaway habit generates 10.7 billion items of packaging waste a year, of which less than 14% are recycled or commercially composted. We help food and beverage businesses eliminate single-use packaging worldwide by sourcing and tracking reusable packaging through our IoT and AI-driven solutions. To date, we have prevented half a million pieces of single-use packaging. We are more than just a reuse system: we are here to change how food & drinks are packaged and consumed. The Role Cauli is seeking a talented and driven Junior/Mid Level Software Engineer to join our team on a full-time basis, starting ASAP. You will work directly with our Head of Technology as part of a small but growing product team that define, build and deliver our product features. You will be supported to rapidly climb the learning curve, work towards specific outcomes with the freedom and responsibility to figure out the best way to achieve them. You will play a hugely meaningful role in shaping our product with significant sustainable impact. The ideal candidate: Has experience with Backend Development using PHP and familiarity with a modern development frameworks such as Laravel, OR Has worked on Python IoT development: Deployment and fleet management with docker and ansible, Linux SBCs such as the Raspberry Pi, machine vision object detection applications, OR Has knowledge of Android & IOS native app development with Kotlin and Swift. Has a strong focus on clean, well documented, quality code and utilising testing across the code base. Enjoys working independently and within a multi-disciplinary collaborative team A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent work experience. Good computer science fundamental skills. Ideally 1+ years of experience in a developer role or demonstrable projects. Responsibilities Participate in development processes with a strong improvement mindset Deliver full life cycle software development from idea creation, design, implementation, testing to release, with maximum quality, maintainability and scalability Develop new features and capabilities across our products for our customers and users Perform troubleshooting of operational and integration issues. Operations Associate (FT)

The Role Cauli is seeking an Operations Associate to join our team on a full-time basis, starting ASAP. You will be an essential part of a small but growing team that define, build and deliver our services. You will be supported by our Senior Operations Manager, co-founders and the product team to rapidly climb the learning curve, work towards specific outcomes with the freedom and responsibility to figure out the best way to achieve them. You will play a hugely meaningful role in shaping our operations and customer relations with significant sustainable impact. The ideal candidate: - Has a keen interest in sustainability, technology, startups and food & drinks - Will be self-motivated, focused and able to demonstrate a proactive approach to driving growth and changes. - Able to think quickly and logically to solve complex problems, and to manage work time effectively and to prioritise appropriately, managing multiple project briefs. - Have strong numeracy, verbal and written communication skills; highly well-organised, responsible and punctual. - Excellent attention to detail - Excellent people skills and customer service - A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent is preferred - Must have at least 1 year of experience working in operations, logistics or customer-facing role through full time or part time employment, work placements or internships. - Fluency in written and spoken English is essential. Responsibilities - Operations and logistics admin, support & planning - Actively participate in our marketing and sales strategy planning and execution, including in-person support with customers, partners and clients. - Respond to customer, partners and press messages via email/web/phone promptly to address their needs, and connects them with the appropriate departments where relevant - Research, copyright and prepare for presentations and proposals - Represent the company in events, meetings and on-site engagement days - Take on additional tasks outside your current boundaries with help from your team and continue to expand your skills What you will get: - An opportunity to work in a tech-for-good company where your role creates a real impact - £25K-28K per annum - 30 days holiday per year (incl.
