FAQs

  • How does CauliBox work?
CauliBox is the UK’s first tech-enabled reusable food & drink packaging solution. You can download our app to borrow and return a CauliBox or CauliCup at your workplace if it is our partner or use at our participating locations, and return the containers to our collection kiosks onsite.
  • Can my workplace partner with CauliBox?
Yes! Please email us at ming@wearecauli.com and we will be in touch!
  • What’s the box like?
Our bespoke boxes are 100% leak-proof and odour-proof, with a lid that seals perfectly. The boxes are stackable and are both dishwasher and microwave safe. The BPA free polypropylene used is extremely durable and 100% recyclable - we take care of recycling the boxes at the end of their life to ensure the circular system is complete. They are manufactured in the Czech Republic to minimise air miles and reduce CO₂ production. While plastic is often seen as the enemy, the boxes can be used up to 400 times and replace the same number of disposable packaging alternatives. This makes them a more sustainable solution, while still fulfilling the requirements of being durable, lightweight and a suitable shape for serving and eating.
  • Tell me more about how the boxes are sanitised
Boxes are cleaned using high-temperature and high-pressure commercial dishwashers, to ensure they’re sanitised to the highest level. CauliBoxes are also cleaned with commercial dishwashers before their first use to ensure health and safety standards are met. Commercial dishwashers are sanitised regularly and staff need to wash their hands and wear necessary protective equipment (masks and gloves) when handling CauliBoxes.
  • Isn’t a single-use paper cup better?
Paper cups are not actually just made of paper. They are lined with plastic to prevent leaks, which makes them very difficult to recycle. Of the 2.5 billion coffee cups used and thrown away each year in the UK, less than 1% is actually recycled, despite multiple campaigns and programmes throughout the years to address this issue.
